Tick everything that is true of your development work. The result is indicative only and does not constitute tax advice.

Are you developing or improving a product, process, software, formulation or technique? Does the work rely on engineering, computer science, physical or biological science? Was there real technical uncertainty about capability, method or design at the outset? Did your team evaluate alternatives through modelling, simulation, prototyping or systematic testing? Was the work performed in the United States by employees or US-based contractors? Do you retain records such as tickets, commits, test results, design reviews or lab notes? Can you identify the people who performed or directly supervised the work? Do you retain the financial risk and substantial rights in the results (the work is not fully funded by a customer)?
